HOPE AND HEAL FUND:

After the tragic San Bernardino workplace shooting in December of 2015, philanthropic leaders throughout California came together and seeded the donor collaborative that is Hope and Heal Fund. Hope and Heal Fund is the only state-based collaborative that utilizes a racially equitable, public health and community-based, approach to gun violence prevention. At Hope and Heal Fund, we focus on reducing and preventing gun deaths, injuries and trauma in all forms – domestic violence, community violence and suicide; and we know the importance of understanding the intersectionality among the forms and the drivers of gun violence. And, we have been proud to support firearm suicide prevention strategies and research. At Hope and Heal we make building relationships with those working on the frontlines of gun violence a priority, and we are proud to partner with suicide prevention experts from across the country including the Veterans Administration and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, along with our friends at the Office of Violence Prevention and the Department of Mental Health in LA County.
